Swelling in DIP

What is the diagnosis?



a) Rheumatoid Arthritis
b)Tophaceous gout
c) Gonococcal Arthritis
d) Sarcoidosis
e) Herbenden's node


The answer is b) Tophaceous Gout

Needle aspiration of the swelling yielded a white viscous fluid with numerous urate crystals identified on polarized microscopy.
